When people are unable to breathe, their lungs need assistance. The ventilator is a device that takes over the function of the lungs when a person is unable to take in or expel air. These devices require precisely timed sequences of valves to recreate this same phenomena that we typically perform on a daily basis without thinking.
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an extreme shortage of these life saving devices. Clippard, due to our flexible manufacturing operation, was able to provide a quick turnaround on a manifolded solution that utilized our low decibel, low power, high life cycle EV valves in combination with our Cordis series flow controller to deliver the correct ratio of O2, CO2 and air. The accuracy of the Cordis allows us to control the ratio of the gasses mixed and overall flow of the gasses with exceptional precision.
