CINCINNATI, OH—April, 2017—William L. Clippard, III, Chairman of the Board, Clippard Instrument Laboratory, Inc., recently received the prestigious Stillman Robinson Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of The Ohio State University for his commitment to the field of engineering.
The Stillman Robinson Lifetime Achievement Award honors retired or emeritus alumni who have distinguished themselves over their lifetimes by contributing to the advancement of their chosen profession. Robinson joined Ohio State in 1878, and was the founding chairperson of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He was also one of the founders of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and received an Honorary Doctorate of Science degree from Ohio State in 1896.
Bill has distinguished himself as an outstanding entrepreneur, innovator, teacher, and servant-leader. Since his graduation from The Ohio State University, Bill has applied his creative mind along with his engineering disciplines to develop unique products and manufacturing processes used in a variety of industries throughout the world. His accomplishments have served as a catalyst for establishing Clippard as a world leader in miniature pneumatics.
